Stephen King wants Netflix to remake Under the Dome

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Back in 2013, Brian K. Vaughan developed Stephen King's 2009 novel UNDER THE DOME into a TV series for CBS. The show aired 39 episodes over three seasons and (so I'm told) got progressively worse as it went along. But it looks like King himself wants a re-do of the book, as the master of horror took to Twitter to voice his opinion that Netflix should readapt the novel writing:

How about Netflix bringing back UNDER THE DOME, only starting from scratch and actually doing the book?

Now I don't know about you, but I would love to see Netflix take a crack at doing UNDER THE DOME right. I mean, I haven't had the chance to read King's novel as of yet (I'm getting to it, I'm getting to it) but I did watch a few episodes of the CBS series and found it to be… lacking. But what do you expect adapting King for prime time TV? Let's just hope Netflix – or Hulu – take King up on his offer and produce a worthy version of the massive novel.

Have you read UNDER THE DOME and/or watched the complete three-season CBS version? If so hit us up and let us know what you thought and how you might adapt said book into a multi-season Netflix Original Series.

As mentioned above, the 2013-2015 CBS series based on UNDER THE DOME was developed by Brian K. Vaughan. It starred Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Natalie Martinez, Britt Robertson, Alexander Koch, Nicholas Strong, Colin Ford, Jolene Purdy, Aisha Hinds, Jeff Fahey, Mackenzie Lintz, Eddie Cahill, Karla Crome, Kylie Bunbury, and Dean Norris. Steven Spielberg and Stephen King were executive producers on the series along with Stacey Snider, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, Jack Bender, Brian K. Vaughan, Neal Baer, and Tim Schlattmann. You can buy the whole series on DVD HERE.
