Storyboards, script pages, and first casting for Rise of the Living Dead

Night of the Living Dead George A. Romero Judith O'Dea

Last month, George A. Romero's son Cameron Romero (who also goes by the name George C. Romero) announced that he was moving forward with his long-in-the-works prequel to his father's film NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD in tribute to the late master of horror. Since then, the younger Romero has shared some peeks behind the curtain at the project, titled RISE OF THE LIVING DEAD, on its official Facebook page.

These previews include a look at several storyboards, plus a few pages of the screenplay. The storyboard and screenplay posts are embedded below.

Along with these posts, Romero has also announced the name of the first cast member: Dimitri Vegas. If you're unaware, as I was, Vegas is half of the popular DJ duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. Romero says that Vegas will be playing one of his favorite roles in the movie. Romero isn't saying exactly what that role is yet, as it's connected to part of the story that he doesn't want to spoil.

Scripted by Darrin Reed, Bryce C. Campbell, and Romero, RISE OF THE LIVING DEAD is

set at the height of the Cold War, when one scientist tried to give the world its best hope for survival and instead unleashed its worst nightmare.

We'll keep you updated on RISE as more information is made available.
