Terminator 5 gets new scribes Patrick Lussier & Laeta Kalogridis!

TERMINATOR 5...from the writers of SHUTTER ISLAND and DRIVE ANGRY? Oh hell yes!

According to Deadline, Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures have tapped Laeta Kalogridis and our pal Patrick Lussier to write a new draft of the next TERMINATOR entry. Pretty awesome paring, if I do say so myself, though no angle or plot info was disseminated beyond that. However, it still seems the flick will be another sequel, not a reboot or a remake of Cameron's original.

Speaking of Cameron, Kalogridis also exec-produced AVATAR and wrote the upcoming epic BATTLE ANGEL. Lussier on the other hand wrote DRACULA 2000, DRACULA II: ASCENSION and DRACULA III: LEGACY, and has long been attached to direct HALLOWEEN III.

I guess the elephant in the room is Schwarzenegger. Will he keep his word and suit up for T5? Will the success of THE LAST STAND determine that for him? Will he simply be too damn old by the time production finally comes around? All good questions with no real answers at this time.

But Patrick and Laeta working together offers true hope for a solid film. Don't you think?!

DRIVE ANGRY hottie Amber Heard!
