The CW orders Cheerleader Death Squad pilot

All Cheerleaders Die

I’m not entirely sure what The CW is smoking as of late, so let’s just roll with this one for now. It was earlier this week when we learned that the network had ordered a pilot for Joe Hill’s “Tales from the Darkside” adaptation, and now they’re eyeing yet another potential series by the name of “Cheerleader Death Squad”. While the name of the series sounds way more interesting than the actual show, I’m sure there’s quite a few people who might want to check this one out. The image above, by the way, is from ALL CHEERLEADERS DIE, who I wouldn't mind seeing in a death squad of their own! Read on for the goods!

Per Variety, “Cheerleader Death Squad” comes from “Desperate Housewives” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” producers Marc Cherry, Neal Baer, Dan Truly and Sabrina Wind.

The one-hour pilot follows a former CIA agent-turned-teacher who realizes that his elite students at a Washington, D.C., prep school have high level access through their personal connections — and trains them to be his eyes and ears in the world of international espionage so he can make his way back into the CIA.

Cherry (“Desperate,” “Devious Maids”), Baer (“SVU,” “ER,” “Under the Dome”) and Truly (“SVU”) are exec producing and writing the pilot, with Wind (“Desperate,” “Devious Maids”) serving as an exec producer. CBS Television Studios will produce.
