Along with seeing the first production still, it wasn’t but a few hours ago we learned Shiloh Fernandez has taken the male lead in THE EVIL DEAD remake. Well ladies and gents, it didn’t take long for Shiloh to find his leading lady!

Deadline is reporting Jane Levy (pictured) has won the coveted female lead in Fede Alavarez’s version of THE EVIL DEAD. As you know, Levy – who has a recurring role on “Suburgatory” and the Halloween comedy FUN SIZE due this October – replaces Lily Collins, who was named a month or so ago. Now that the principals are locked, word is Alvarez will start shooting soon.

Coming at us April 12, 2013 – THE EVIL DEAD revolves around:

Five twenty-something friends who become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

As filming nears commencement in New Zealand, how do you like the casting so far? Are the leads too unknown or does that work in their favor?
