The Lost Boys 4 is dead at Warner Bros., will the Frog brothers survive?

After the last two debacles, is there really an appetite for THE LOST BOYS 4?

My guess is no, there isn't, which is at least in part why there apparently will be no 4th LOST BOYS film Or a TV show for that matter). Of course, Warner Premiere (which championed parts 2 and 3 in the series) was shut down by Warner Bros. this past August. As you might imagine, all home video projects under the banner were lost in the transition, and according to Corey Feldman, THE LOST BOYS 4 was among them. Check it...

"I am not sure if you are aware, but Warner Premiere has folded. The company that was assigned to make the films in The Lost Boys franchise are no longer in business. Therefore, that leaves The Lost Boys without a home. The Frog Brothers are homeless at the moment."

Feldman continued:

"I would like to see the franchise stay alive. There is not a day that passes, that a fan doesn't write to me and say, "What about the next The Lost Boys? Where is Lost Boys 4? What about another Frog Brothers movie? Frog Brothers TV show ? Frog Brothers cartoon?

People love it. People want to see more of it. Jamison Newlander and I are always down to get back into bed. But that being said, it's Warner Bros. that drives that boat. It is a Warner Bros. film, it's a Warner Bros. franchise. Without Warner Bros. behind it, there are no more Frog Brothers. The Bros. Warner need to get back into bed with The Bros. Frog. Then we can all have a great big movie orgy. Until then, we are all left as homeless Frogs."

Quite an unceremonious death of the Frogs, ay? Thing is, do you even give a damn anymore? Big or small screen, theatrical or home video...is there still a market for the Frog Brothers or another LOST BOYS spin-off?

Extra Tidbit: THE LOST BOYS (1987) was filmed in Santa Cruz, CA. Santa Cruz in Spanish means "Holy Cross," which is an interesting connection given the vampire subject matter and their vulnerability to crucifixes.
