The next season of American Horror Story will be 'very different'

American Horror Story Freak Show

With Freak Show nearing its finale, we’re all ready starting to catch wind of some details regarding season 5 of “American Horror Story”. FX’s fifth season of their popular horror anthology series will be “very different,” says FX CEO John Landgraf. To that I say, aren’t they all?

When pressed to reveal next season’s theme, Landgraf said, “I know what it is, but I can’t [say]. I have to let [series boss] Ryan [Murphy] do his thing on that. But it’s very different.” He then continued, “One of the things I love so much about that is that it can be radically, radically reinvented in terms of tone, setting, period, characters, cast.” And along those lines, “I think there’s going to be an unusually large reinvention in between Book 4 and Book 5 relative to, say, between Book 3 [Coven] and 4 [Freak Show].”

It’s not much to go on, but it will be interesting to see where they go from here. One thing we know for sure is that Freak Show is most likely Jessica Lange’s last season of “American Horror Story”. Bummer.
