The official Lockout one-sheet takes no prisoners

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

LOCKOUT pretty much came out of nowhere last month as one of the must-see flicks of the year. That was mostly thanks to the fantastic trailer, which gave us a taste of what is hopefully a wild, crazy good time in the mold of those priceless rollicking 80s and 90s action extravaganzas they just don’t make anymore. (Never thought I’d buy Guy Pearce as a wise-cracking anti-hero, but he’s clearly the man in this movie.)

Now the poster has arrived via MTV; it’s nothing unique or special, but then again, this movie isn’t trying to rewrite the rules. There’s a startling lack of Maggie Grace cleavage, though, and I’m a tad surprised they’re not pitching the prison aspect. (And using “take no prisoners” as your tagline doesn’t count; almost any action movie in the history of cinema could arbitrarily use that tagline.)

Starring Guy Pearce and Maggie Grace and set in the near future, LOCKOUT follows a falsely convicted ex- government agent (Pearce), whose one chance at obtaining freedom lies in the dangerous mission of rescuing the President’s daughter (Grace) from rioting convicts at an outer space maximum security prison.

LOCKOUT hits theaters on APRIL 20th. Perfect 4/20 release, really…
