The release of Slender Man has been delayed three months

Slender Man Sylvain White

I don't know enough about creepypasta stuff to even understand why it's called creepypasta, and all I really know about the Slender Man is that a couple of mentally ill pre-teens tried to stab one of their friends to death to appease the recently created fictional character, so it doesn't mean much to me at this point that a SLENDER MAN movie is on the way… Nor does the fact that it's from the director of I'LL ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER help me build up anticipation.

However, the character clearly has a following, and if you're a fan who has been looking forward to director Sylvain White's SLENDER MAN film, I have some disappointing news to share with you: Sony has delayed the release of the film three months, pushing it back from May 18th to August 24th.

Scripted by David Birke, the film tells the following story:

In a small town in Massachusetts, four high school girls perform a ritual in an attempt to debunk the lore of SLENDER MAN. When one of the girls goes mysteriously missing, they begin to suspect that she is, in fact, HIS latest victim.

Joey King, Julia Goldani-Telles, Jaz Sinclair, Annalise Basso, and Javier Botet star.

At least SLENDER MAN got a new date. Sony removed another of their horror projects, director Diederik Van Rooijen's CADAVER, from their release schedule completely.
