'The Vampire Diaries' star Matt Davis will make the transition into the new CW horror/mystery series 'Cult'

I know it might be hard to keep track of all these cult related TV shows coming up for the next season, so bare with me! The CW’s new series simply titled ‘Cult’ is casting for the pilot; we gave you the news that Robert Knepper, Jessica Lucas and Alona Tal have all been cast.

The male lead has been found, and it is someone already on the CW, Matt Davis one of the stars of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ has signed on. He’ll actually be pulling double duty on both shows (if this one takes off), he won’t be getting killed off or leaving ‘The Vampire Diaries’ so you can rest easy fans!

The plot (and Matt’s character) has been described by Deadline as the following: ‘Cult’ centers on Skye (Lucas), an inquisitive young production assistant on a wildly popular television show called Cult. After a rash of disappearances and a likely murder, she joins Jeff (Davis), a journalist blogger whose brother was among those gone missing, in investigating the rabid fans of the series who might be re-creating crimes seen on the program in real life.

The CW have actually produced some fine shows, I am actually a big fan of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and admittedly ‘Gossip Girl’. This sounds pretty interesting, the subject is intriguing so I’ll tune in to see how it goes.

Jessica Lucas
