Theatrical poster and new trailer for Ben Wheatley's A Field In England, hitting theaters & VOD in February

It was back in May when we learned that director Ben Wheatley's latest, the psychedelic headtrip A FIELD IN ENGLAND, was picked up for U.S. distribution by genre fave Drafthouse Films, and today we've learned that the film will be hitting theaters and VOD on February 7, with a DVD and Blu-ray release following on April 8, 2014. To celebrate we have a new trailer and the stunning theatrical poster to share with you below.

We're big fans of Wheatley's work around here at AITH with KILL LIST and SIGHTSEERS being some of the most exciting work we've come across over the past couple of years so we're super stoked to learn that A FIELD IN ENGLAND will soon be making its way to us. The English Civil War-set film stars Michael Smiley (KILL LIST), Peter Ferdinando (TONY), Reece Shearsmith (THE LEAGUE OF GENTLEMEN), Julian Barratt (THE MIGHTY BOOSH), Richard Glover (SIGHTSEERS) and Ryan Pope.

England: 1648 AD. A small group of deserters flee from a raging battle through an overgrown field. They are captured by two men: O'Neil and Cutler. O'Neil (Michael Smiley), an alchemist, forces the group to aid him in his search to find a hidden treasure that he believes is buried in the field. Crossing a vast mushroom circle, which provides their first meal, the group quickly descends into a chaos of arguments, fighting and paranoia, and, as it becomes clear that the treasure might be something other than gold, they slowly become victim to the terrifying energies trapped inside the field.

A FIELD IN ENGLAND is a psychedelic trip into magic and madness from Ben Wheatley award-winning director of Down Terrace, Kill List and Sightseers.

You can pre-order A FIELD IN ENGLAND on DVD HERE or scoop it up on Blu-ray right HERE. I'll be ordering my copy, but I'll be damn sure to see it in theaters as well! I'm up for peeping anything Mr. Wheatley does, especially after seeing KILL LIST.

Extra Tidbit: Will you be checking out A FIELD IN ENGLAND when it hits theaters, VOD and DVD/Blu-ray?
