Trailer and poster for found-footage thriller Apartment 143 (Emergo)

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Though we’ve seen about a billion of these things by now, APARTMENT 143 (EMERGO) appears to do the found-footage thing pretty creepily. At least, that’s what I’m getting from the official trailer for the film, which has just been released and can be seen below. (It’s different from the preview we showed you abouta week ago). Perhaps this flick, produced by Rodrigo Cortes, will prove to be a standout in an increasingly tired subgenre… (Too bad the poster is so derivative.)

I’m not sure what’s going on with the title, though. At first I thought it was EMERGO, then I thought it was APARTMENT 143, but now it’s apparent that it’s APARTMENT 143 (EMERGO). That’s just odd, folks. I’d suggest the producers pick just one, but I guess it’s kind of too late…

A team of parapsychologists sets out to investigate a series of anomalous phenomena taking place in a newly occupied apartment. Telephone calls with no caller, mysterious shadows, extraordinary light emissions, flying objects, and exploding light bulbs, are some of the events they will face while recording their every step with state-of-the-art technology. Using infra-red filming, digital photography, psychophonic recordings, movement detectors, and magnetic field alteration meters, the group’s attempts to contact the “other side” will grow increasingly dangerous as they near a point of no return…

APARTMENT 143 jumps to theaters on JUNE 1st, but it will hit iTunes on APRIL 27th. Find the footage below.
