Trailer: Jon Bernthal stars in violent thriller Sweet Virginia

Sweet Virginia Christopher Abbott Jon Bernthal Jamie Dagg

Last year it was announced that Jon Bernthal would be starring alongside Imogen Poots, Christopher Abbott, Rosemarie Dewitt, and Odessa Young in director Jamie Dagg's thriller SWEET VIRGINIA. The release of that film is now swiftly approaching, and a trailer has arrived online.

Written by brothers Ben and Paul China, SWEET VIRGINIA has the following synopsis:

A mysterious stranger sends shockwaves through a close-knit community in this nerve-jangling slice of raw suspense. In the wake of a triple murder that leaves the residents of a remote Alaskan outpost on edge, tightly wound drifter Elwood (Abbott) checks into a motel run by Sam (Bernthal), a former rodeo champion whose imposing physical presence conceals a troubled soul. Bound together by their outsider status, the two men strike up an uneasy friendship — a dangerous association that will set off a new wave of violence and unleash Sam’s darkest demons.

This isn't a horror movie, but it's dark and violent enough that it has caught our attention here at Arrow in the Head, and the presence of Bernthal in the cast doesn't hurt.

IFC Films will be giving SWEET VIRGINIA a theatrical release on November 17th. Check out the trailer below and see if this is a movie you would like to go see next month.
