Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Should we be covering producer Peter Jackson's MORTAL ENGINES movie? I guess we'll go ahead and cover the film's new trailer and then take a gauge of "horror" interest from there. You can check out the new trailer below.

MORTAL ENGINES is the startling, new epic adventure directed by Oscar-winning visual-effects artist Christian Rivers (KING KONG) that takes place:

Thousands of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted and a new way of living has evolved. Gigantic moving cities now roam the Earth, ruthlessly preying upon smaller traction towns. Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan)—who hails from a Lower Tier of the great traction city of London—finds himself fighting for his own survival after he encounters the dangerous fugitive Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar). Two opposites, whose paths should never have crossed, forge an unlikely alliance that is destined to change the course of the future.

Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens penned the screenplay based on the 2001 award-winning Scholastic book series by Philip Reeve. Walsh and Jackson are also producers along with Zane Weiner, Amanda Walker, and Deborah Forte. Ken Kamins joins Boyens as executive producer.

Universal will distribute the film worldwide and it will land in the U.S. specifically December 14th. Check out the new trailer and U.S. poster below.
