Two posters for Oblivion arrive, aren’t particularly memorable

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

If Universal Pictures wants to continue to up our interest in their sci-fi epic OBLIVION, they’re gonna have to work a little harder than these two ho-hum posters recently revealed by Entertainment Weekly. The first sports Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman and tells us little about the Joseph Kosinski flick. The second is a little more forthcoming with info – hey, look how f*cked up the future is! – but it’s nothing you’d want to frame and hang on your wall. C’mon, Universal, give us something to drool over!

Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack’s mission is nearly complete. Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.

OBLIVION hits IMAX on April 12th and goes wide on April 19th. Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Melissa Leo and Nicolaj Coster-Waldau star.
