Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson sign on for The Conjuring sequel

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

THE CONJURING had one hell of an opening at the box office this weekend with $41.5 million, making a sequel a no-brainer for New Line. During a recent interview at Comic-Con Vera Farmiga spilled the word that she would be back playing Lorraine Warren along side Patrick Wilson's Ed Warren. With THE CONJURING writers Carey and Chad Hayes also set to return for the sequel, it looks like we may be in store for another solid horror flick. No word as to who will helm the sequel but it's doubtful we'll see James Wan in the director's chair for this one as he'll be busy on FAST & FURIOUS 7.

Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, "The Conjuring" tells the horrifying tale of how world-renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.

THE CONJURING stars Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston, Lili Taylor, Joey King, Shanley Caswell, Haley McFarland and Mackenzie Foy. The film is in theaters now!
