Veronica Mars alum Percy Daggs III set for CW’s iZombie

"Veronica Mars" alum Percy Daggs III will be reteaming with producer Rob Thomas for The CW's upcoming comic book series "iZombie", according to TV Guide.

Based upon characters created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred, and published by DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint, iZOMBIE is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Spondoolie Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Rob Thomas, Diane Ruggiero-Wright (“Veronica Mars”), Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge . The pilot was directed by Rob Thomas.

Here's the synopsis:

A medical student who becomes a zombie joins a Coroner's Office in order to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat so that she can maintain her humanity but every brain she eats, she also inherits their memories and must now solve their deaths with help from the Medical examiner and a police detective.

Daggs is best known for his role as Wallace Fennel in the Rob Thomas television series "Veronica Mars" and is set to appear in "iZombie" as Sean Taylor, a wealthy genius who lives in Seattle. When he gets a job offer in Silicon Valley, he plans to move his wife Penny and 6-year-old stepdaughter Anna there, but then finds himself in a tough custody battle with Anna's father, Everett. But the problem is seemingly solved when Everett is killed.

We're still unsure as to an exact date when "iZombie" will finally arrive on the CW as all we know right now is it is set to premiere 'midseason'.

The series also stars Malcolm Goodwin (“Breakout Kings”) as Clive Babineaux, newcomer Rahul Kohli as Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti, Robert Buckley (“One Tree Hill”) as Major Lilywhite, and David Anders (“Once Upon a Time,” “The Vampire Diaries”) as Blaine DeBeers.
