Video Interview! We Talk The Reckoning With Director Neil Marshall

Neil Marshall has had one hell of a varied career. His debut werewolf film, Dog Soldiers, is rightfully considered one of the best independent genre films of the early 2000s, while The Descent pushed him into the horror mainstream. With a great eye for action and a sly sense of humor with a bit of a bite, he's been able to parlay his talents into the world of television with episodes on Game Of Thrones and Black Sails while executive producing the Lost In Space Nextflix remake.

Heading back into the world of small, independent filmmaking, Neil's new film, The Reckoning (Watch it here), releases this Friday, February 5th. We were able to Zoom-chat with the director about The Reckoning, making a plague-centric story, crafting a strong female lead, and if he has any interest in making a sequel to his most beloved film, Dog Soldiers. The Reckoning is about:

After losing her husband during the Great Plague, Grace Haverstock (Charlotte Kirk) is unjustly accused of being a witch and placed in the custody of England’s most ruthless witch-hunter, Judge Moorcroft (Sean Pertwee). Forced to endure physical and emotional torture while steadfastly maintaining her innocence, Grace must face her own inner demons as the Devil himself starts to work his way into her mind.

RLJE Films and Shudder will release the action / horror THE RECKONING In Theaters, On Demand, and Digital on February 5, 2021.
