Viral video sets up this week’s release of the Child’s Play remake trailer

The trailer for director Lars Klevberg's remake of the 1988 classic CHILD'S PLAY is set to be released this Friday, as it's expected to be showing before theatrical screenings of the creepy kid movie THE PRODIGY. Now a viral video has arrived online to help get us prepared for the trailer.

If you haven't been following the details of the CHILD'S PLAY remake, you wouldn't even realize the viral video had anything to do with it. It's presented as an announcement from Kaslan Corporation, "the world's leading developer of interactive tech products", and features Tim Matheson as Kaslan founder and CEO Henry Kaslan. The CHILD'S PLAY remake was written by Tyler Burton Smith and stars Gabriel Bateman, Aubrey Plaza, Beatrice Kitsos, Ty Consiglio, Carlease Burke, and Brian Tyree Henry.

The film was produced by David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith, with Aaron Schmidt and Chris Ferguson serving as executive producers.

The new CHILD'S PLAY is set to be released on June 21st. The trailer will be here in just four days.

This project has nothing to do with the recently announced Chucky TV series that's being developed for Syfy. That show is a continuation of the original franchise.
