Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman developing an exorcism drama

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

“The Walking Dead” creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman is set to tackle a different horror genre in the name of freaking us out: the world of exorcisms!

Kirkman, “Walking Dead” executive producer David Alpert, Fox International Channels and Kirkman’s Image Comics imprint Circle of Confusion, are collaborating on a potential series that will be based on Kirkman’s upcoming comic, which is still untitled.

The premise:

Told through the Kirkman prism, the series follows a young man, Kyle Barnes, who has been plagued by possession since he was a child. Now an adult, he embarks on a spiritual journey to find answers but what he uncovers could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it.

Kirkman states, “Sharon Tal Yguado and the entire team at FOX International Channels have been instrumental in making The Walking Dead the worldwide success that it has become. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to continue working with this forward-thinking and extremely talented group.”

I have a feeling this project is going to move swiftly (thanks in large part to Kirkman’s rising stock in the industry), so keep your eyes peeled for more news in the near future.
