Warner Bros. sets newbie director for David Koepp’s sci-fi thriller The Wind

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Before you ask, no, THE WIND is not the much-anticipated sequel to THE HAPPENING.

It’s evidently a top-secret sci-fi spec script written by David Koepp, who has penned everything from the original SPIDER-MAN to JURASSIC PARK to INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL. Yeah, the bastard is richer than a crooked politician, but he obviously knows big-budget extravaganzas, and THE WIND is his latest offering to the studio gods.

Warner Bros., the studio that has been developing THE WIND, has tasked Nic Mathieu to direct. Mathieu will make his major motion picture debut on the film, but he’s an accomplished commercial helmer that Warners feels has a strong point of view.

As for the story, it’s naturally being kept under wraps. All we know is that it is set in a space colony. Always potential for something incredible to happen on one of those, right?

Check out the below commercial for Zenith that Mathieu directed; it may give you a hint as to why Warner Bros. is high on the man.
