What Can Be Broken Should Be Broken, the first short film from writer/director Rostislav Vaynshtok, is set to have its world premiere on August 15th as part of Popcorn Frights Film Festival in Coconut Creek, Florida, and today we're proud to share the EXCLUSIVE first look at the film's opening sequence. Check it out in the embed above! Inspired by the likes of I Saw the Devil, A Bittersweet Life, Female Prisoner 701: Scorpion, The Neon Demon, and Only God Forgives, What Can Be Broken Should Be Broken is a revenge thriller that weaves in elements of horror through organ harvesting mobsters and a quest for vengeance. Here's the synopsis:

A mob hit gone awry embroils two mobsters in a series of unfortunate events too calculated to be a coincidence, leading ultimately to ruin and an act of savage revenge.

Vaynshtok gave the following statement about his film:

It’s a half English, half Russian Language, Korean Revenge style film told through the scope of theatrical lighting a la Dario Argento or Nicolas Winding Refn."

The writer/director also composed the score for the film under his musical alias Slavvy. The video for the first single from Slavvy, "Lavender", can be seen below, along with some images from What Can Be Broken Should Be Broken.

What Can Be Broken Should Be Broken will be screening at Popcorn Frights as part of the "Homegrown: 100% Pure Fresh Squeezed Florida Horror" sidebar, which is
