Will we be seeing new Ghost Rider and Blade films in the near future?

Good news for those of us who desperately want to see a cool GHOST RIDER film come to the big screen: Marvel Studios have to movie rights to the character once more.

Marvel chief Kevin Feige revealed as much to Entertainment Weekly (via ComicBookMovie), saying that Ghost Rider, along with Blade, are back in the Marvel fold after stints with Sony and New Line Cinema, respectively.

Whenever a character comes back to us, it’s usually because because the other studios don’t want to make the movies anymore — and that usually means the [previous] movies have not been well-received,” Feige tells the magazine. “They all have potential, but we’re not going to say, ‘We got it back — make it!”

Obviously, Feige and his crew have their hands full with Phase Two of their AVENGERS characters, but they've also expressed an interest in doing stand-along films as well (Dr. Strange could be in the works.) It may be too early to hope that GHOST RIDER will be rebooted by Marvel - a studio that knows how to make superhero films the right way - but one can hope.

As for BLADE, they actually got it right with the character the first two times around; only David Goyer's BLADE: TRINITY was a dud. Perhaps Marvel would actually be wise to leave well enough alone as far as this character goes..?

BLADE: TRINITY's Jessica Biel
