WWE Films join Halle Berry & Abigail Breslin for serial killer romp The Hive

You guys remember that serial killer flick THE HIVE? Last we heard youngster Abigail Breslin joined the picture, which is coming from the criminally underrated Brad Anderson. Ringing any bells? Chances are you were pretty damn stoked about this one, huh? Well that didn't last for long..

Word coming in from Variety today has WWE Films joining the party, coming on board to co-finance and co-produce the thriller with Troika Pictures. Who knows... maybe they won't have anything to do with the flick's actual production and are just on board to make a quick buck. One can hope, right?

Set against the backdrop of a 911 emergency center, a 911 operator must face her own fears in order to save a teenage girl (Breslin) from a serial killer.

The gorgeous Halle Berry (below) will be playing the 911 operator. I don't know about you guys but everything regarding THE HIVE thus far has me completely sold. Here's hoping WWE Films don't mess this shite up!

Sony Pictures will distribute THE HIVE, which comes from a script by Rich D'Ovidio. The scribe came up with the story alongside Nicole D'Ovidio and Jon Bokencamp. Troika's Michael Helfant, Robert Stein and Bradley Gallo, WWE Studios' Michael Luisi and Jeff Graup are producing. William Gallo, Philip M. Cohen and Chip Rosenbloom are executive producers.

THE HIVE is set to start filming in Los Angeles on July 6th so hopefully more news on this one will be spilling our way soon. Fingers crossed yo!
