House of Gucci trailer finds Lady Gaga igniting a war for a fashion empire

MGM released a new trailer and several character posters for House of Gucci on Thursday. The House of Gucci trailer finds Lady Gaga’s Patrizia Reggiani infiltrating the life and business of Adam Driver’s Maurizio Gucci, the one-time head of the Gucci fashion house. The footage presents an intense tease for the anxiety-inducing thriller that promises to deliver plenty of shady deals, backstabbing, and the toppling of old leadership to make way for the new.

Directed by Ridley Scott, House of Gucci is inspired by the shocking true story of the family empire behind the Italian fashion house of Gucci. Spanning three decades of love, betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately murder, we see what a name means, what it’s worth, and how far a family will go for control.

The new House of Gucci trailer also gives us our best look yet at the supporting cast, which features Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci, Salma Hayek as Pina Auriemma, Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci, and Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci. Based on the novel The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden, House of Gucci is written by Becky Johnston and Roberto Bentivegna.

I could see House of Gucci being nominated for outstanding performances, Makeup and Hairstyling, and Best Production Design based on this trailer alone.

In addition to the new trailer, MGM also dropped several new characters posters for House of Gucci:
