Hugh Jackman wishes he could discuss the cool ideas for the next Wolverine installment

I had this weird dream last night that I was in on meetings for potential comic book films and one of them was the next WOLVERINE flick. Yeah, it was weird. They wanted to go with a title like “Wolverine: The Purge” or something. I think I saw a TV spot for THE PURGE before bed so that’s why it popped in my head. Maybe this is part of my secret desire to make comic book films better.

Then I wake up to find out that Hugh Jackman has actually been talking with THE WOLVERINE director James Mangold about the follow up to this years solo Wolvie film. Weird, right?

Jackman didn’t give up any detail but he did say there was some good stuff on the horizon:

I was on the phone with Jim Mangold last night,” says Jackman. “There are some really cool ideas that I’m dying to tell you, but that would be giving away a secret that is not even [fully] formed yet. I do want to do it with Jim and with [producer] Lauren Shuler-Donner because we had such a great experience. I’m really proud of The Wolverine.

We’ve been wondering if Jackman would continue to do Wolverine films. I think it would be kind of neat if he aged with the character then we got Old Man Logan. The actor is up for doing another film as long as everything is in its right place:

I don’t want to dive into another one until we have a compelling reason to do another one. I love the character, he’s kind of like a best friend to me, and I don’t ever want to take [him] or the fans for granted. I think we’ve got a great opportunity to make something really cool, but it has to be great. That’s what we’re all working toward.

What do you want to see in the next WOLVERINE installment?
