It’s not easy being green in the new poster for Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch

Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment have unveiled a new poster for the DR. SEUSS' THE GRINCH, an upcoming animated version of the children's story written by Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel and published by Redbook in October of 1957. The gloriously green poster art shows the black-hearted curmudgeon sporting his "Resting Grinch Face," an expression that many of us can relate to, after enduring years-worth of holiday-related mayhem.

Directed by both Yarrow Cheney (THE LORAX) and Scott Moiser (CLERKS, MALLRATS), DR. SEUSS' THE GRINCH tells the tale of a vile creature named Mr. Grinch, whose brain is full of spiders and has garlic in his soul. No longer able to cope with the cheer and frivolity of the Christmas season, the Grinch climbs down from his Mt. Crumpet home on a mission to steal the holiday out from under the people of Whoville. Lending his now-iconic vocals to the titual character is Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch (DOCTOR STRANGE, SHERLOCK). Writing the screenplay for the animated adventure will be Michael LeSieur and Tommy Swerdlow with production by Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy.

The King of Sinful Sots will drop his new film down theater chimneys before the Christmas rush on November 9th.
