Jack Kesy lands regular role on FX’s The Strain

Now that all the big players are in place with the recent announcement of John Hurt to co-lead as Professor Abraham Setrakian, opposite Corey Stoll and Mia Maestro in FX’s adaptation of Guillermo del Toro’s THE STRAIN, it’s time for FX to put all the final pieces in place.

Deadline is reporting that young New York theater actor Jack Kesy has landed a regular role in FX‘s drama pilot, THE STRAIN, from Guillermo del Toro and Carlton Cuse. Kesy, repped by Paradigm and Luber Roklin, plays Gabriel Bolivar who, in the vein of Iggy Pop – brooding, and charismatic – corrupted his stunning good looks with Goth makeup and his sublime music with industrial shrieks and created an international rock superstar… with an insatiable appetite for recreational sex and pharmaceuticals.

THE STRAIN is a high-concept thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers wage war for the fate of humanity itself.

Kevin Durand, Richard Sammel, Lauren Lee Smith, Jonathan Hyde and Miguel Gomez co-star in the project, from FX Prods.
