James Wan produced Demonic will premiere on Spike July 27th

Produced by James Wan and based on a story he crafted with writer Max La Bella, the horror-thriller DEMONIC has been taking a long road to release in the United States. The project was originally announced under the title HOUSE OF HORROR back in 2011, at which time F. Javier Gutierrez was going to direct it. A couple years later it went into production with Will Canon directing and the title was changed to DEMONIC.

In 2014, it was announced that Dimension Films would be releasing DEMONIC into theatres on December 12th of that year. But then the film was delayed and tossed on the shelf with another long-delayed supernatural horror film from Dimension, AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING.

Years have passed and there has been no word of a release for DEMONIC in the U.S. (it has been released in some international territories)… but now the film is about to sneak out of the movie jail it's been in.

This Thursday, July 27th, the television channel Spike is going to be showing horror for most of the day – THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, the IT mini-series, an episode of the Stephen King series The Mist… and nestled in the midst of all that, DEMONIC is going to be airing from 8pm to 10pm.

Scripted by Canon, La Bella, and Doug Simon, DEMONIC is set in

the aftermath of a horrific massacre where five college students were brutally murdered inside an abandoned home. Detective Mark Lewis and psychologist Dr. Elizabeth Klein question one of the few survivors, who explains they were amateur ghost hunters seeking out paranormal phenomenon at the abandoned house, which was believed to be haunted.

Frank Grillo, Maria Bello, and Cody Horn star in the film.

Since it has now made its way off the shelf, DEMONIC will also be receiving a VOD release on October 10th.
