Josh Gad teases Ferris Bueller’s Day Off as next Reunited Apart episode

Josh Gad's Reunited Apart YouTube series has been one of the best things about quarantine. The actor has reunited the casts of such films as THE GOONIES, BACK TO THE FUTURE, THE LORD OF THE RINGS and, most recently, GHOSTBUSTERS. It was at the end of that particular episode that astute fans caught a hint that seems to indicate that FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF is likely going to be the next cast reunion that will fulfill our nostalgia needs.

During the 'coming soon' segment of the GHOSTBUSTERS episode, "Oh Yeah" by Yello played in the background. The song is famous for being featured during Ferris’s Ferrari escapade and the song became so popular due to the film that is has gone on to become known as the "Ferris Bueller song." This provides a pretty solid sign that Gad has worked his magic to get the BUELLER cast back together.

Despite coming out in 1986, FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF has gone on to become a teen comedy classic for generations that discovered it at the time of its release and for those that followed. It really is a timeless tale of light-hearted teenage fantasy rebellion that is amplified due to a truly charming and star-making turn from Matthew Broderick and fun supporting characters played by Mia Sara, Alan Ruck, and Jennifer Grey. In the film, a high school wise guy and slacker is determined to have a day off from school, despite the greatest efforts of his principal.

Written and directed by eternal teenager, John Hughes, Ferris BUELLER'S DAY OFF became a hit with critics, currently sitting at a fresh 80% on Rotten Tomatoes, and with audiences, going on to gross $70.1 million on a mere $5.8 million budget. In 2014, the film was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress, being deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

So far there is no news on who might attend the reunion but I'm sure the main leads will show up. Gad has also been known for including the behind-the-scenes players in his classic movie reunions so anyone involved in various stages of the production could also make an appearance.

Are YOU excited to see the FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF cast reunite? What other cast reunions should Josh Gad put together for Reunited Apart?
