Hey there, True Believers! Smoke on the street suggests that film and television director Kat Coiro is negotiating to direct the pilot and several episodes of Marvel's She-Hulk series for Disney+! It's also been said that in addition to her directorial duties, Coiro will also flex her muscles as an executive producer on the show. Meanwhile, Rick and Morty writer Jessica Gao is already in charge of leading the writers' room and is ready to place Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk, in the limelight.

In the comics, Jennifer Walters was a young woman who received an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin, who just so happens to be Bruce Banner. As a result of this transfusion of radioactive blood, Jennifer found that she could transform into a large, powerful green-skinned version of herself, but unlike her cousin, she's able to retain much of her intelligence and emotional control.

Due to COVID-19, Marvel has moved the premieres for their Disney+ superhero series – The Falcon and Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki – to next year, with no date set in place for when production for She-Hulk can begin. In fact, She-Hulk is still in the midst of looking for its lead actress, though Marvel Studios has said that they are on the hunt for an "Alison Brie-type" actress to play the part. Later, upon hearing Marvel's request, Brie responded by telling THR the following:

"You know, I've been trying to follow it online a little bit, and there don't seem to be. But it is always funny to me when something kind of takes off on the internet, and I'm getting my updates from fans tagging me in things on Instagram. I'm like, "Oh, interesting. Oh, people are still talking about it. That's cool." (Laughs.)

In addition to her feature film MARRY ME expected to hit theaters this February, Coiro has also directed a variety of television shows including BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, DEAD TO ME, Showtime's SHAMELESS, and FX's IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA, just to name a few.
