KICK-ASS doesn’t come out until next year and the sequel is already coming up.
The sequel is shooting within the next two years and apparently already has a premise. Mark Millar, who created the comic said this on the next film, “There’s a basic plot. The series ends on a teaser for the next one, and the movie ends on that teaser, too.” So it’s going to be one of those movies that leaves off and you’re like, “F*ck, there’s going to be a sequel.” The tone of the word f*ck may vary depending upon whether you dug the film or not.
It’s not known yet if Matthew Vaughn will direct the comic sequel or if Marvel/Disney will take over in the place of Lionsgate, but Millar knows the next one is going to be something of greatness, “We don’t want to sound too cocky, but we know this is good. It didn’t cost that much money to make. There will definitely be another one.” I am a fan of Millar so I will take his word on it.
I am a little confused on how you guys feel about the movie though. It seems like a decent portion of you are all over it, while the other half thinks it’s a total crap idea. The trailer looked fantastic, even though I can understand how the blurriness might bother you a bit. Seriously though, what’s the good argument for and against KICK-ASS?
