Kingsman 2 title revealed, plus story details & concept art

Thanks to Empire, we now know what the title will be for the KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE sequel: KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE. Director Matthew Vaughn also shared some story details during an interview for the new issue of the magazine, which features several pieces of concept art for the follow-up.

Apparently KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE will see Taron Egerton's Eggys and Mark Strong's Merlin heading to the United States after the Kingsman headquarters is destroyed (presumably on the order of Julianne Moore's villainous Poppy), and the duo will be visiting the HQ of the Statesman, the U.S. version of the spy organization. The Statesman are led by Halle Berry's Ginger and a "swaggering, sharpshooting cowboy" named Jack.

Vaughn on his plans for the sequel:

I didn't know if I wanted to direct this or not. I was worried about the villain. Spy films are only as good as their villains. Then one morning I woke up with the whole storyline in place, and a new villain plot.

On if he's going to try to recreate the church sequence from the first movie:

You try not to read what people want, but they do want another church sequence. I have no reason for another massacre to happen. But I have other sequences you've never seen before.

The director went on to tease those "other sequences you've never seen before," which include a skiing scene, a barroom brawl, robot dogs and one-armed henchmen, and the heroes will also be attacked by "a massive f***ing frankfurter." You can check out the rest of the concept art below, and, as always, be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE is scheduled to open on June 16, 2017.
