Kong: Skull Island clip shows a fight, featurette goes behind the scenes

I've said it again and again, but I am hyped for director Jordan Vogt-Roberts' KONG: SKULL ISLAND, which looks to be an incredibly fun monster mash. There has been no shortage of marketing for this film, and as its March 10th release date draws ever closer the marketing is not slowing down.

Yesterday we shared a clip in which a conversation between characters played by Samuel L. Jackson and John Goodman revealed how the film is connected to 2014's GODZILLA, establishing its place in the MonsterVerse that production company Legendary Entertainment is building at Warner Bros. Today we have another clip, one which offers a very quick glimpse of the iconic monster Kong battling another creature that inhabits this MonsterVerse, a thing called a Skull Crawler.

That fight clip is quite short, barely lasting 20 seconds. If you're left wanting more after that, the film's trailers are also included in that video.

And if you want more that you haven't seen before, we also have a behind-the-scenes featurette that lasts almost 3 minutes. In this featurette, Roberts, Jackson, Goodman, Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Jason Mitchell, and Corey Hawkins discuss the story, characters, Skull Island, the myth of Kong, the size of the beast, and the idea of the film being a spectacle that will hopefully cause "wonder and awe".

Max Borenstein, John Gatins, Dan Gilroy, and Derek Connolly all worked on the screenplay, telling the following story:

The year is 1973. Somewhere in our world, it is said that there exists a wondrous island unspoiled by man – a land shrouded in mystery, where myth runs wild. Uncharted and undiscovered.

When the secretive organization known as Monarch identify this destination as the origin point for mysterious new superspecies, they mount an expedition to discover its secrets.

What they find on Skull Island is an adventure beyond any human experience. An exotic paradise of wonders and terrors, where flora and fauna have fused together into an Eden of otherworldly jungle creatures.

As one group fights to escape and the other declares war on Kong, we discover that the mighty primate is at the center of a battle for dominion over the island, locked into a ‘survival of the fittest’ face-off with the terrifying apex predators responsible for wiping out his kin.

Driven by vengeance, Kong will become nature’s fury, and fight to take his rightful place upon the throne of most powerful beast on the island, revealing the story of how Kong became King.

Cast members not interviewed in the featurette include John C. Reilly, Tian Jing, John Ortiz, Thomas Mann, Shea Whigham, Toby Kebbell, and Eugene Cordero.
