Last Action Hero reboot? Bring it on!

Big gun. Da, na, na, na, na, na.

Like many of you guys out there, one of my favorite childhood movies is DIE HARD and PREDATOR director John McTiernan's action-comedy cult classic, LAST ACTION HERO starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and a super creepy Tom Noonan (see below). And wouldn't you just know it, today we have word (a rumor) that the film is the next on the remake/reboot chopping block.

I don't think I'd like to see a remake. But I would totally dig a sequel (without the kid all grown-up) where the movie within a movie JACK SLATER is rebooted. Rebooted with the title character as an old man, thus bringing old Schwarzenegger to battle The Ripper and Benedict all over again.

Of course, all set to a rockin' AC/DC soundtrack.

How would YOU feel about a reboot/remake of LAST ACTION HERO? Let us know below!

For those of you that have never had the pleasure, the original film centered on:

young Danny Madigan (Austin O'Brien) who takes comfort in watching action movies featuring the indestructible Los Angeles cop Jack Slater (Arnold Schwarzenegger) following the death of his father, After being given a magic ticket by theater manager Nick (Robert Prosky), Danny is sucked into the screen and bonds with Slater. When evil fictional villain Benedict (Charles Dance) gets his hands on the ticket and enters the real world, Danny and Jack must follow and stop him.

John McTiernan directed LAST ACTION HERO from a screenplay written by Shane Black and David Arnott based on a story by Zak Penn and Adam Leff. McTiernan also produced the film along with Steve Roth. It starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, Austin O'Brien, Charles Dance, F. Murray Abraham, Art Carney, Frank McRae, Robert Prosky, Anthony Quinn, Mercedes Ruehl, with Ian McKellen as Death, and Tom Noonan as The Ripper. Columbia Pictures unleashed the cult classic into theaters back on June 18, 1993. Buy it on Blu-ray RIGHT HERE.
