This is the second major delay for FURY ROAD, which was expected to begin work over the summer when unseasonal rains pushed back filming until December. In Hollywood, it’s slightly easier when a film is delayed as workers can quickly find jobs on other productions. In Australia, it’s harder for the hundreds of workers to find new jobs as the local film business has been slow. The paper reports that the big film studios in Melbourne, Sydney and Gold Coast were all empty as of press time.
It also means that agents will be quickly trying to find new work for the film’s cast, which included Charlize Theron, Tom Hardy and Zoe Kravitz. Theron is currently filming YOUNG ADULT for director Jason Reitman and Hardy is currently filming on THIS MEANS WAR with Reese Witherspoon and Sam Worthington but neither have anything set on their schedule after those projects and when FURY ROAD was set to film.
