Max is the focus of upcoming Stranger Things prequel novel

We still have almost four months left to wait before the third season of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things is released through the streaming service, but during this time between seasons other forms of media have been used to take us back to the world of Stranger Things.

Dark Horse Comics published a limited series called Stranger Things: The Other Side, which revisits the first season of the show from the perspective of Will Byers, who was stuck in the Upside Down. That series will soon be collected in a trade paperback that you can pre-order at THIS LINK. Dark Horse's next Stranger Things series will start reaching shelves in May and is going to focus on Hawkins Laboratory test subject Six.

Meanwhile, Del Rey has been publishing prequel novels. The first, written by Gwenda Bond and titled Suspicious Minds (you can order that one HERE) was about Eleven's mother and how she got involved with the Hawkins Laboratory. Then the novel Darkness on the Edge of Town (order HERE), written by Adam Christopher, was about Hawkins, Indiana Chief of Police Jim Hopper and his time working as a detective in New York City.

Next up in that series of prequel books is author Brenna Yovanoff's Runaway Max, which will focus on Max Mayfield, who was the new girl in town (and the Dig Dug champion) in Stranger Things season 2. Yovanoff's story

explores Max's past — the good and the bad — as well as how she came to find her newfound sense of home in Hawkins, Indiana.

Stranger Things: Runaway Max is scheduled to be released on June 4th, and copies can be pre-ordered on Amazon.

Stranger Things season 3 hits Netflix on July 4th.
