The Latest Announcements

Superman Returns - TBA

According to DVDActive, the single disc edition for Supes will be featureless, as in bare-ass-bones. Both will be presented in 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. A two-disc collector's edition will include deleted scenes and a Requiem for Krypton: Making Superman Returns, 3-hour documentary that takes you behind the scenes onto the set of Superman Returns. The release date is up in the air so stay tuned to the DVD CLINIC for the date and if any other goodness will be added to the discs (not likely).

An Inconvenient Truth - November 21

Seeing Al Gore at the VMAs was about as awkward as calling in to your job, being home alone, working your jimmer-jammer into a frenzy until your Mom-who you thought was at the mall-busts in and screams, "Johnny, those are my good sheets!" That kind of awkward where you're like, "Do I finish or take her to breakfast?". It's also rockin' for the VMA crowd to be graced with the presence of the man who invented Snickers and the internet. Oh and Teletubbies was his thing too.

  • Anamorphic Widescreen with English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and Dolby Digital 2.0
  • Subtitles in English, French and Spanish
  • An update by Al Gore
  • Melissa Etheridge music video for "I Need to Wake Up"
  • Audio commentary by director Davis Guggenheim and a second commentary by producers Lawrence Bender, Scott Burns, Laurie David and Lesley Chilcott

The Doors (SE) - December 12

Lionsgate, on the heels of officially announcing the 15th anniversary of RESERVOIR DOGS' collector's set, is pushing another 15th anniversary collector's set for Ollie Stone's THE DOORS. I for one, have spent countless nights recreating my own little "peyote in the desert" experience in a Wal-Mart parking lot with a bottle of Everclear. It's hard to find peyote in this concrete jungle. But it's not for lack of trying.

  • Newly remastered 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer
  • DD 5.1 EX and 6.1 DTS-ES audio tracks
  • "The Road to Excess" - Documentary
  • "Oliver Stone: The Doors in LA" - Interview with the Director
  • "Jim Morrison: An American Poet in Paris" - Featurette
  • 43 minutes of deleted and extended scenes
  • Trippy ass, psychedelic packaging (stay tuned)

Mr. Mojo Risin': inspiration for pole dancers everywhere.

Scrooged (SE) - October 31

Appropriately subtitled as the "Yule Love It" edition, it's one special edition subtitle I can live with. SCROOGED is way up there with movies I just have to see during the holidays, along with DIE HARD and CHRISTMAS VACATION. Yule get a commentary by director Richard Donner, featurettes called, Updating Ebenezer, Bringing the Ghosts to Life, The Look of Scrooged, and On the Set with Bill Murray - Parts 1 and 2. There's also a Showest Mesage from Bill Murray feature and the theatrical trailer.

How can you not trust a guy like this?
