The Passion of the Christ (SE) - January 30

You may have noticed I took a week off as I was rehabillitating my knee from an unfortunate polo accident. All is well, thanks for the well wishes (there were none). The new special edition for PASSION that we told you about a few weeks ago finally has some artwork and is being billed as the "Definitive Edition". What happened? 24 (S6) - January 16

No word on whether or not there will be any extras or commentaries included with the sixth season release, but so far we know that the set will include the first 4 episodes plus a 12 minute preview of the fifth. I'm slacking (forgive me) on 24, but what's with releasing the first 4 episodes only? Cool cover, though.

The Marine - February 6

When I first saw the trailer for THE MARINE I was all like, "Great, give another wrestler a movie" but as the trailer played itself out, I found that my Fun Meter had risen quite a few notches. If anyone's seen it, strike back below because the flick reminds me of an 80's action flick that might've starred Swarzenegger, Stallone or Dudley "Booger" Dawson from Revenge of the Nerds. The flick will be in separate Full Screen Rated (91mins) and Widescreen Unrated (92mins) editions:

  • English DD5.1 Surround
  • French & Spanish Dolby Surround
  • English & Spanish subtitles
  • Audio commentary by director John Bonito and actors John Cena and Kelly Carlson

  • Cena's Aussie Day Off
  • World Premiere at Camp Pendelton
  • Stuck in the Elevator

    • Robert Patrick/John Cena
    • Fight Scenes
    • Kelly Carlson/John Cena
    • Cena Stunt Work
    • Fans Reaction
    • Explosion/Action Scenes
    • Cena vs. Trition: Who's Tougher?
    • Shoot Locations
    • Kate/Angela Fight Scene
  • Theatrical Trailer

Open Season - January 30

Seems like it's "open season" on animation flicks as of late (that was horrible). If I see another talking animal, I'm swearing off the LSD. If I see another talking animal movie, I'll get back on the LSD. How did I get here? I had a point. Oh yeah, "las drogas son malas, mmm bien?"

Pirate's of the Caribbean 2 - Out Today!!!

The second in a group of three is always a tricky thing. Being the middle child sucks, getting second place isn't nearly as great as first place (but then again it's not the worst), and getting left out of a threesome with your lady and her best friend is bit of a bitch. You want to get involved but you don't want to get too involved and ruin a good thing. TWO TOWERS left you wanting more and the same is true with POTC 2: DEAD MAN'S CHEST. There really is no beginning and really no end. Tricky, I tell you. Read JoBlo's review of the flick HERE. Buy it HERE

An Evening with Kevin Smith 2 - Out Now!!!

In this follow up to K-Smith's hit, AN EVENING WITH KEVIN SMITH, the rotund one sets out to London and Toronto to give forth his smart ass advice and relay tales of giving the "angry inch" to his wife. I'm guessing since I haven't seen it but if you know anything about the dude, he loves to talk about that shit, and that's why he's so damn lovable. Or tolerable, depending on your fanboy meter. All that aside, our very own Sturdy reviewed the flick right here, and you can buy that shit HERE.

Beavis & Butthead: The Mike Judge Collection - Out Now!!!

Ah, good ol' Beavis & Butthead. Looking back, you can see how innovative and fresh the cartoon was. There was no state of the art animation used for it, even though I love how crudely they and the environment was drawn. I haven't seen it in about ten years so I'm anxious to see how well it's held up over time. Sturdy scoped out this collection, (read his review of the DVD set HERE) and it made me realize how out of touch Hollywood is. They should be kissing Mike Judge's ass. Buy the set HERE.
