5-minute look at Captain America: The Winter Soldier to play at 3D Thor: The Dark World screenings

Those who weren't able to see the sneak peeks of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER at SDCC, NYCC, or D23 will finally be able to get an extended look at the upcoming superhero sequel when it plays a five-minute look in front of 3D screenings of THOR: THE DARK WORLD. No word on what exactly will play, but based on what's been shown already, it's likely some variation of the elevator fight sequence and/or the Cap/Black Widow vs. henchmen fight sequence, both of which have played in one of the aforementioned venues.

Here's the details:

Audiences will get an extended, roughly five-minute look at Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 3D when they grab a ticket to Alan Taylor’s Thor sequel. This special engagement, according to the studio, will be available exclusively at 3D screenings of the newest Marvel film throughout its theatrical run.
“After Marvel’s The Avengers, the Marvel films are more interwoven than ever, and this pairing is the perfect complement to both of the new movies,” said Dave Hollis, executive vice president, theatrical distribution, at Walt Disney Studios. “Thor: The Dark World is going to be an exceptional theatergoing experience, and this sneak peek will really rev fans up for the return of not only the Mighty Avenger but the First Avenger as well.”

I don't need another five minutes to lure me into a screening of Cap 2, but shit, I'll take it. These extended first looks have been gaining traction over the last few years and I'm cool with 'em. Some may want to remain "fresh" before seeing any of these new movies and I can respect that, although I personally don't feel that a five minute tease is going to sour the whole experience.

What do you think? Are these preview peeks cool or overkill?

You can catch the tease in front of 3D screenings of THOR: THE DARK WORLD, opening on November 8, 2013. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER opens on April 4, 2014.
