The Matrix Collection Gift Set - December?

Check out the sweet looking Gift Set below. By "sweet" I don't know if I mean really frickin' cool or really frickin' dorky. I'll get back to you on that one. Anyway, the guys over at TheDigitalBits passed along some info regarding a Warner Bros. DVD panel the Wachowski Brothers...I mean Siblings, attended at the Comic Con. The big news out of that is there will be no extended cuts and there will be two commentaries: one by philosphers Ken Wilber and Cornel West and the other commentary by three professional critics who hated all three movies. The non-transgender Wachowski, Andy, said, "It's the best idea we've ever had. It's hilarious. They just sit there and rip the shit out of us for six hours."

The best idea? Oh you mean after your previous best idea of including philosophers in the commentaries so all of us regular non-edumacated folk can better understand what a crock of elephant dung Reloaded was? Maybe you should've included a translator to tell us what the hell these philosophers are saying in laymans terms. You know, because we're dumb and don't "get" the philosophical and religious aspects, not to mention the sado-masochistic, sexual undertones of the movies. Way to stroke your own f*cking egos dudes, kiss my ass. Read the whole article here.

Mary Poppins (SE) - November 16

Fans of Mary Poppins and LSD are stoked at this totally stacked special edition. And how rare that the actual stars, 40 years later, do a commentary track? Sweet. Check out the full specs here.

Stir Of Echoes (SE)

The Shawshank Redemption (SE)

The Office

Goodfellas: Not Scorsese's best, but hey, it's not bad. I guess. 8/17

Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore: Scorsese didn't always make "gangster" flicks. Handles domestic drama with zeal. Outstanding. Where's his Oscar?! C'mon Hollywood! 8/17

After Hours: More early Scorsese stuff that's part of the Scorsese Collection:. 8/17

Who's That Knocking at My Door?: I haven't seen this yet but Harvey Keitel looks all of 16 years old here. 8/17
