Ladder 49 - March 8

Personally, I don't think there are enough firefighter movies. So I'm lying, you got me. Although Backdraft was pretty bomb (mostly because it was filmed blocks away from my house) is there really a need for another firefighter flick? Although one starring Travolta and Phoenix I guess wouldn't be so bad.

  • Commentary by Director Jay Russell and Editor Bud Smith
  • Deleted scenes
  • Everyday Heroes - Featurette of real stories from real firefighters
  • Making of Ladder 49 - Featurette
  • Shine Your Light music video performed by Robbie Robertson
  • .85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen
  • THX certified Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track.

The joke went a little too far when someone filled the cooler with acid instead of water.

Hoosiers (SE) - March 8

On the other side of the Indiana basketball spectrum lies the much deserved special edition of Hoosiers, one of the great basketball flicks of all time. Complete with things like teamwork and playing with respect and dignity, it's something the present day Indiana Pacers (Artest, O'Neal) had no idea existed.

  • Audio commentary with Director David Anspaugh and writer Angelo Pizzo
  • Hoosier History: The Truth Behind The Legend - Featurette
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Vintage footage of original championship game which the film is based on
  • Photo Gallery
  • Trailer
  • 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen and new Hi-definition transfer

Artest proves how much of a bad ass he is by going into the stands and beating down the skinny white kid with glasses. Way to go, guy.

Ray - February 1

Already we have some early specs for this biopic on the late, great Ray Charles. I've always dug Jamie Foxx when he wasn't trying to be funny, so it'd be interesting to see what his performance is like, which some are already considering Oscar worthy. A 2 Disc Gift Set will also be available to own. Specs for that include what's on the standard release (below) and also over 20-minutes of additional never-before-seen complete uncut music performances from the film, a featurette entitled The Filmmakers' Journey, Special Packaging and collectible photo book.

  • 14 Never-before-seen deleted scenes
  • Complete uncut music performances from the film featuring Hit the Road Jack and What Kind of Man Are You
  • Walking in His Shoes: A revealing look at Jamie Foxx's incredible transformation into Ray Charles
  • Ray Remembered: Friends and fellow musicians remember Ray Charles

What? There's something in my teeth?"

Home Improvement (S1): Tim the Toolman Taylor when he was funny and is now reduced to the godawful looking Christmas with Kranks. Meh. 11/23

Boy Meets World (S2): Cory and the gang are all here and yes, it's still creepy to be looking at Topanga that way. 11/23

Spider-Man 2: Yet another wet shirt nipple shot of the lovely Kirsten Dunst. How will Raimi top that in Spidey 3? 11/23

Happy Gilmore/Billy Madison Set: Arguably, Adam Sandler's best flicks. Arguably. 11/23

The price is definitely wrong, bitch.
