12 Monkeys (SE) - May 10

12 Monkeys is one of the top movies of the late 90's, features Bruce Willis' best performance ever (yes, better than Butch in Pulp Fiction) and also Brad Pitt's best performance next to Tyler Durden in Fight Club (but probably not as good as Floyd in True Romance). All of this directed by Terry Gilliam who is one of my favorite directors and is somehow labeled as "too weird and eccentric" by folks who call the shots in Hollywood, often passing on any project where his name is mentioned. Good going guys.

Elektra - April 5

When Indiana Sev visited the set of Elektra some time ago, he told me that Jennifer Garner was completely "enamored" with him. I swear to God he used enamored. She was laughing at every one of his jokes, and listened intently, hanging on his every word as he related story after story. Ben Affleck joined the set a while later and had some words with Sev because he didn't like him hitting on his lady. So Sev busted out with some Karate Kid type shit and wailed on Affleck to cheers from everyone watching, and Jennifer quickly proclaimed, "Yep, that's my man everybody! That's my man!" When I asked Indiana Sev if all that was true he said, "Not really; the movie's going to be so friggin' boring that the mind conjures up scenarios ten times better than anything they're creating." Indiana Sev: The Prophet.

Dinner at Elektra's house consists of disturbingly large silverware.

Kinsey - May 17

Kinsey revolutionized the method and tactics used to research all things sex. Sweet. Sounds like a good pick up line doesn't it? Right. Try using that in a bar. You wouldn't believe the amount of times I've had beer poured on my lap because I was a, "researcher from Oxford doing his thesis on the effects of tiny halter tops and midriffs, and how they coincide with feelings of regret and loss." Anyway, Liam Neeson is always good, so there you have it.

Menu Shots

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

Orgazmo (SE)

Raging Bull (SE): Scorsese's poetic swan song to Jake LaMotta; DeNiro's transformation into a fat, way past his prime boxer is both astounding, heartbreaking and worth the price of a rental alone. 2/8

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (S1): Whatever happened to Alfonso Riberio? As JoBlo says, "one of the greatest nerds to ever grace a television show." 2/8

Half Baked (SE): Not much of an SE with no Dave commentary, but what do you want from him? He's rich bitch. 2/15

Donnie Darko (SE): From what I've heard, the director's cut falls extremely flat. May be worth it for the Kevin Smith commentary. 2/15
