$850,000 could buy you The Amityville Horror house

Can you afford an asking price of $850,000 and need a place to live – or perhaps just like dabbling in the real estate market? Then have I got a piece of property to show you. 

108 Ocean Avenue is currently up for sale in Amityville, New York, and, for those of you who know your paranormal legends, you should recognize that as the house from THE AMITYVILLE HORROR. Granted, there are no mentions of the home's murder history nor any swarms of flies that would be included upon closing, but, for $850k, you do get five bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, a full partially finished basement, an eat-in kitchen and a formal dining room, not to mention a large boat house and your very own boat slip. It is a pretty nice "Stately Center Hall Colonial," if you don't mind the occasional tourists of the occult dropping by your place for pictures and the occasional inquiries about any strange things happening in the house… oh, or the pig-ghosts, depending on what you believe of the Lutz's accounts of their time in the house in the mid-70s. 

The address has since been changed to try to avoid the attention (it's now 108 Ocean Avenue as opposed to what was once 112 Ocean Avenue) and you won't get those iconic quarter-round windows, which were removed years ago… but it's still that house. So, if this is in your price range, bid away… and good luck.
