A film in one image?

Always wanted to catch up on some classic movies but just don’t have the time? Well here’s an answer to that problem. Now you can see VERTIGO right here, right now and completely legal. Check it out:

OK, so it’s not the same as sitting down and actually getting to experience watching VERTIGO (which is obviously what we’d recommend you do one day) but that is VERTIGO in its entirety. Graphic designer Brendan Dawes came up with a program that took a frame per second and arranged them 60 across to create a poster of the entire movie. It’s fascinating to look through and see surprising bursts of color (like during the dream sequence) and if you stare at it long enough it becomes like one of those “magic eye” posters where you start to see stuff coming out of the image. Dawes has created similar posters for THE FRENCH CONNECTION, SERPICO, DELIVERANCE, ROAD TO PERDITION, THE MAN WHO WASN’T THERE and many more. There’s even TAXI DRIVER, which you can see below. Sadly, Dawes’ official site is currently down but here’s a link to one of his exhibitions that shows off some of his work.
