A hacky sack movie? Maybe with ICM signing on to rep Wham-O

Have you ever thought that hacky sack would make for a great movie? What about Slip ‘N Slide? Or maybe even Frisbee? Well brace yourself because this could all be possible.

ICM agency has signed the iconic toy company Wham-O for representation. Most of you have used a toy from Wham-O like a Frisbee, Hula Hoop, or Super Ball. Products like those have been around since the 1950’s and ’60’s. Later down the line they sold things like Slip ‘N Slide, Hacky Sack and Boogie body boards. Today they are still selling millions and millions of products.

ICM will look to, “package Wham-O’s unique products for movies, television, music and online content in the same vein as it did with Atari. So far, the agency has guided three Atari properties into the film realm: Asteroids at Universal, Rollercoaster Tycoon with Sony Pictures Animation and Missile Command at 20th Century Fox.”

Wham-O was founded by Arthur Melin and Richard Knerr, who traveled the world to find inspiration for toys. Thankfully a few of their toy ideas didn’t take off like do-it-yourself bomb shelter and the “instant fish” idea that consisted of selling mud with eggs from a unique species of African fish. Sadly, those fish would not mate in America. We all feel robbed.
