A Hawkman film?

The greats in comics have been translated to film: BATMAN, SUPERMAN, SPIDER-MAN, IRON MAN, HAWKMAN…wait…what?!

Call this a rumor, call it whatever you want, the guys over at Pajiba.com found out from their amazing inside source that HAWKMAN is coming. Warner Brothers and DC are developing a big screen version of the reincarnation of prince, Khufu.

It seems that they are looking to do something in the direction of Kenneth Branagh’s THOR. But with HAWKMAN? He is a charter member of the Justice League, but that doesn’t really matter. If you were going to pick a rotating member of the Justice League, it’d be best to go with a character like Green Arrow. At some point there’s going to be a movie with Green Arrow by David Goyer called SUPER MAX, but that’s taking forever. Hell, HAWKMAN might be here before that film.

Here’s the best I can offer when it comes to a explanation of HAWKMAN, please excuse me if I butcher it: Carter Hall was an archeologist who was the reincarnation of Egyptian prince, Khufu. There was this strange metal that he discovered that allowed him to fly. He’s held his spot with the Justice League on and off, had a verbal tiff with Green Arrow, and was eventually booted for the new birdman, Katar Hol. The preferred weapons are the ones he finds from museums and later got replaced with HAWKGIRL.

Again, Warner Brothers has not confirmed this so the source may be blowing smoke up our ass. Either way it is sort of funny. Don’t let his manliness in that photo confuse you.
