Last Updated on July 30, 2021

The magnificent magicians of stop-motion, CG magic over at Laika Studios are at it again, and this time they're bringing an icon of human evolution along for the ride! Today, Laika debuted a brand-new trailer for MISSING LINK, an upcoming stop-motion animated comedy adventure from the studio that gave us CORALINE, PARANORMAN, THE BOXTROLLS, and KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS. Helmed and written by PARANORMAN co-director Chris Butler, MISSING LINK tells the tale of when Mr. Link recruits explorer Sir Lionel Frost to help find his long-lost relatives in the fabled valley of Shangri-La. Along their journey, the duo cross paths with steadfast adventurer Adelina Fortnight, and together, the trio of explorers travel the world to help their new friend.

Hugh Jackman voices Sir Lionel Frost, a kind-hearted explorer who agrees to help "Mr. Link" in his hour of need. Meanwhile, Zach Galifianakis lends his vocals to the solitary Sasquatch, Mr. Link, while Zoe Saldana plays the part of Adelina Fortnight. Also set to provide voices for the film's characters are Matt Lucas, Emma Thompson, Timothy Olyphant, Stephen Fry, David Williams, and Amrita Acharia, among others.

Yesterday, Hugh Jackman announced today's trailer by sharing a photo of himself holding a maquette of his Sir Lionel Frost character via Twitter.

With Laika having such a rich and wonderful library of stop-motion animated films to their name, it's no surprise that fans of the studio are incredibly excited to see what they've come up with next. Here's hoping that MISSING LINK dazzles children and adults of all ages when the film pops up in theaters on April 12th.
