A new poster for Jordan Peele's Us evokes shear terror

Universal Pictures has debuted a new poster for Jordan Peele's mysterious new thriller US, the award-winning filmmaker's directorial follow-up to his 2017 box-office-breaking hit GET OUT. Helmed and written by Peele, it's been rumored via a leaked synopsis that US will focus on a mother and a father who take their kids to their beach house expecting to enjoy time with friends. But their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some visitors arrive uninvited.

Here's the leaked synopsis in full:

A mother (Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o from Black Panther, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and 12 Years a Slave) and a father (Winston Duke from Black Panther) take their kids to their beach house expecting to unplug and unwind with friends (including Emmy winner Elisabeth Moss from TV series The Handmaid’s Tale). But as night descends, their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some shocking visitors arrive uninvited.

In addition to the above mentioned stars, US also features Tim Heidecker (TIM AND ERIC, AWESOME SHOW, GREAT JOB!) Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (AQUAMAN, THE GET DOWN), Anna Diop (TITANS, THE MESSENGERS), Evan Alex (KIDDING, EIGHT), Shahadi Wright Joseph (THE LION KING, HAIRSPRAY LIVE!), Madison Curry, Cali Sheldon (WINNER, NOVEL ROMANCE), and Noelle Sheldon (LIFE, ROUGAROU).

As you can see from the image posted above, the poster for US is taking a simple yet effective approach to marketing the upcoming "social thriller" that aims to cut deep into hearts and fears of those brave enough to attend the film. And hey, if US is anything like 2017's GET OUT, audiences can expect to climb aboard a terrifying and emotional roller coaster that's just as harrowing as it is socially relevant. Please keep your arms and legs inside the car at all times, and hold on for dear life.

US is expected to invade theaters on March 15, 2019. Meanwhile, a trailer for the film is expected to drop this Christmas.
