A Quiet Place Part II, release date

In a time when movies are being pushed back in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are receiving news that a film is actually moving up on the release calendar. It has been announced that A Quiet Place Part II will be opening earlier than anticipated.

A Quiet Place Part II will now open on Memorial Day weekend, May 28, 2021. This move takes it off of its September 17, 2021 slot which was the film's new release date after several delays due to the pandemic. The Memorial Day weekend release spot became open when Universal Pictures moved Fast & Furious 9 from the lucrative holiday to June 25, 2021.

Last week when Paramount+ had its big investor day, it was announced that films like A Quiet Place Part II would get a 45-day theatrical window before arriving on the streaming service. I believe this is the bulk of the reason why Paramount Pictures has decided to go early with the highly-anticipated sequel because with movie theaters reopening in New York City and on the verge of doing so in Los Angeles, there is room for the film to pull in decent money from its theatrical release before driving traffic to the newly revamped streaming service.

In A Quiet Place Part II, following the deadly events that took place in the first film, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path. Once again written and directed by John Krasinski, the film stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, Cillian Murphy, and Djimon Hounsou.
